I really liked the lighting on this ostrich and the sharp focused look in it’s eye. His attitude seems to be don't mess with me or he is just really focused on his next meal. I thought there was something really fun about trying to capture the look in the eyes. You see ostrich often on safari in Africa and this soft pastel painting is based on a photo from one of our many trips during the time we lived there.
