No More Home
Ringed seals are being deeply affected by global warming. They rely on sea ice to live — to rest, to hunt, to give birth, and raise their pups. But as the Arctic gets warmer, the ice is melting too fast, and there's less snow to build safe dens for their young. Without strong snow shelters, seal pups are left exposed to cold and predators before they're ready. At the same time, more ships and oil activities are entering their habitat, bringing noise, pollution, and the risk of oil spills. These gentle animals are losing the quiet, frozen world they once called home.
In this piece, I used the stippling technique with black ink on paper to convey depth, fragility, and emotion through every single dot.
