Confident Finalist

I used a more expressionistic style when painting this very confident Raven! He was talking loudly on one of our fence posts and I wanted to emphasize his brazen behavior as he tended to ignore me and my camera. It was a great catch!

I created the painting in oil using both brushes and knives for dynamic strokes of color to capture the bird's fierce spirit and intelligence. The raven's glossy black feathers shimmer against a backdrop of warm, earthy tones. The contrast between the raven's dark form and the softer hues around it creates a captivating visual dialogue, evoking a sense of wonder and curiosity.
