The Horse on Willow Road
“I think it was from the horse that I learned as a young child that it is possible to cast yourself on the goodness of Gods creations and love. My horse comforted me in difficult times. There was an emotional sickness over loss and abandonment as child, an experience that I couldn't seem to deal with, but where my horse was a mercy and a comforting friend.”
Horses enliven the experience of the natural world, just as do many animals in creation where we can connect with them when human connection seems out of reach. This horse on Willow Road is running away. The trees are weeping willows adding to the poetic and romantic feel of the painting.
